O Festival Bang Awards realiza-se nos dias 25, 26 e 27 de setembro em Torres Vedras!

Masterclass: ANIMATION SUPER MEGA EXTRA FUN TIMES

Uma masterclass honesta sobre a prática e o trabalho de Ala Nunu, de criar coisas, falhar, aprender com os erros e voltar a criar ainda mais.

Há dez anos, em 2016, conheceu o realizador Bruno Caetano no Bang Awards. Sete anos mais tarde, foram aos Óscares com o filme Ice Merchants e agora, em 2026, está de volta ao Festival Bang Awards!

Ala Nunu é uma realizadora de animação polaca, atualmente radicada em Portugal. O seu portefólio inclui trabalhos para a Adult Swim Toonami, Universal Studios e Frank Sinatra Estate, The Atlantic e o On Being Project. O seu novo filme, In the Beginning, estreou no SXSW em março de 2026. O seu filme anterior, Telsche, realizado em coautoria com Sophie Colfer, estreou no Festival de Cinema de Annecy e recebeu, entre outros prémios, o de Melhor Design de Som no Cinanima. O seu outro filme, Ahead, foi selecionado para festivais como o Animafest Zagreb, o Bucheon International Animation Festival e o Festival Anima, em Bruxelas. É também co-fundadora da cooperativa internacional de produção COLA, onde ajuda a dar vida a uma grande variedade de projetos, desde curtas-metragens a experiências de realidade virtual (VR).

Enquanto animadora, Ala Nunu trabalhou recentemente em filmes como o nomeado para um Óscar Ice Merchants e o multipremiado Slow Light. Dá regularmente aulas na Universidade do Algarve, em Portugal, e na PJWSTK, em Varsóvia, na Polónia.

An honest masterclass about Ala Nunu practice and work, about making things, failing at things and making more things.

Ten years ago in 2016 she met Bruno Caetano at Bang Awards Festival, seven years later they went to the Oscars with “Ice Merchants” and now in 2026 we are back at Bang Awards!

Ala Nunu is a Polish animation director currently based in Portugal. Her portfolio includes working for Adult Swim Toonami, Universal Studios and Frank Sinatra Estate, The Atlantic and the On Being Project. Her new film “In the Beginning” premiered SXSW in March of 2026. Her previous film Telsche, co-directed with Sophie Colfer, premiered in Annecy Film Festival and was awarded best sound design at inter alia Cinanima. Her other film Ahead has been selected at festivals such as Animafest Zagreb, Bucheon International Animation Festival and Festival Anima in Brussels. She is also a co-founder of COLA international production cooperative, where she helps bring to life a wide variety of projects, from short films to VR experiences. As an animator, Nunu has recently worked on films such as the Oscar nominated Ice Merchants and multi awarded Slow Light. She regularly teaches at the University of Algarve in Portugal and PJWSTK in Warsaw, Poland.
