O Festival Bang Awards realiza-se nos dias 25, 26 e 27 de setembro em Torres Vedras!

Masterclass: STOP MOTION MISSION

Começando do zero há 23 anos, Shel e Justin Rasch apaixonaram-se pela animação em stop motion. Bonecos, cenários, iluminação, câmaras, partilhar as nossas experiências na internet e colaborar em equipa tornaram-se parte da sua missão, mas o ingrediente de maior sucesso que descobriram foi impregnar o seu trabalho com as suas paixões pessoais. Através de histórias, imagens e vídeos, vão partilhar convosco a sua jornada pela animação em stop motion, que começou na garagem, onde faziam curtas-metragens, e que acabou por florescer num estúdio de produção de stop motion completo (ainda na garagem!).

Shel Rasch dedica-se à criação de magia através da animação Stop Motion há 23 anos. É coproprietária da Stunt Puppet Pictures, juntamente com o seu parceiro Justin Rasch, onde escreve, realiza, produz, constrói marionetas e cria mundos em miniatura para contar histórias envolventes através do fascinante universo da animação. Shel trabalhou em várias curtas-metragens premiadas e criou conteúdos para diversas marcas, incluindo BBC, Mattel, Blizzard Entertainment, Awolnation, Supreme, Bruder Toys e Plushie Dreadfuls. Tem uma vasta experiência nas áreas das artes do movimento e gosta particularmente de criar coreografias para cinema.

Justin Rash  é reconhecido mundialmente pelo seu trabalho dinâmico em Stop Motion, animação 3D (CG) e animação tradicional, para cinema, televisão e plataformas digitais. É coproprietário da Stunt Puppet Pictures, juntamente com a sua parceira Shel Rasch. As curtas-metragens da SPP receberam diversos prémios em festivais de cinema, e entre os seus clientes encontram-se BBC, Mattel, Blizzard Entertainment, Supreme e Bruder Toys. Trabalha em cinema, televisão e videojogos há mais de 30 anos. Participou em projetos para Netflix, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Robot Chicken, Sony, Sega, Activision, Konami, DreamWorks e Microsoft, incluindo o filme vencedor do Óscar Pinocchio, de Guillermo del Toro, e os filmes nomeados para os Óscares da Laika, ParaNorman e Kubo and the Two Strings. Atualmente, é realizador na Blizzard Cinematics. Cria coreografias de artes marciais e cenas de ação para cinema, além de trabalhar em motion capture para vários videojogos, incluindo Uncharted 2 e a série True Crime. Ensina animação online através da Justin Rasch Animation.

Masterclass: STOP MOTION MISSION

Starting from scratch 23 years ago, Shel and Justin Rasch fell in love with stop motion animation. Puppets, sets, lighting, cameras, sharing our experiences with the internet, and collaborating as a team all became part of their mission, but the most successful ingredient they’ve found is infusing their work with their personal passions. Through storytelling, images and video footage, they will share with you their stop motion animation journey as it started in their garage making short films and eventually blossoming into a full production stop mo studio (still in their garage!).

Shel Rasch has been making Stop Motion magic for 23 years. She is co-owner of Stunt Puppet Pictures with her partner Justin Rasch, where she writes, directs, produces, builds puppets, and creates miniature worlds to tell compelling stories through the wonder of animation. Shel has worked on award winning short films and created content for many brands including BBC, Mattel, Blizzard Entertainment, Awolnation, Supreme, Bruder Toys and Plushie Dreadfuls.  Shel has an extensive background in movement arts and enjoys creating chorography for film.

Justin Rasch is known worldwide for his dynamic Stop Motion, CG, and Traditional animation for Feature, TV and Online platforms. He is the co-owner of Stunt Puppet Pictures with his partner Shel Rasch. SPP’s short films have won many awards on the film festival circuit, its clients include BBC, Mattel, Blizzard Entertainment, Supreme and Bruder Toys.  Justin has worked on feature film, Television, and video games for over 30 years. He has worked on projects at Netflix, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Robot Chicken, Sony, Sega, Activision, Konami, Dreamworks, and Microsoft, including the Oscar winning film, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and Oscar nominated films by Laika, Paranorman and Kubo and the Two Strings. He is currently a Director at Blizzard Cinematics . He creates martial arts choreography and stunt acting for film as well as motion-capture for various videogames including Uncharted 2 and the True Crime series. He teaches animation online through Justin Rasch Animation and has over 1.5 million followers, and growing, on social media platforms.
